General conditions
RESERVATION DEPOSIT
To secure your reservation, we typically request a 50% deposit unless noted otherwise. Upon your inquiry, reservations will be held up to 24 hours pending receipt of deposit. If we have not received payment or any communication within that time, CASAS del CARIBE may consider your reservation cancelled and the dates will be available for other guests.
CASAS del CARIBE accepts Paypal, Credit Cards, and Bank Transfers for payment. Within Costa Rica, we recommend money transfers using BNCR, BCR or BAC free of charge. You will need to authorize a payment of 50% of the total anticipated rental charges. Once we receive a copy of the payment and it is registered on our account, you will receive confirmation via email.
REMAINING BALANCE
The balance payment is due at least 5 days prior to check-in. If the balance is not paid on time, your reservation may be cancelled. We will not accept any check-ins unless the balance and security deposits have been paid in full at least 5 days prior to check-in. We reserve the right to treat the booking as canceled if the balance(s) is not paid on time.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
A minimum security deposit of $200.00 (or up to $500.00 for premium properties) is required at least 5 days prior to check-in by PayPal or bank transfer. No cash will be accepted.
Please report any damage to the property or any missing items immediately. If the unit is found in an appropriate order following your departure, the full value of the security deposit will be refunded within 5 days of check-out. In all other cases, the cost of any damages or missing items will be deducted from the security deposit before refunding the remaining balance.
CANCELATIONS
If you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, we charge a $50 cancellation fee. We will refund the balance of your deposit, and any banking fees, within 2 weeks of your request.
If you cancel within 60 days of your reservation date, we will refund 50% of your total balance.
If you cancel 5 days prior to your reservation date, or arrive and do not stay the length of your reservation, no refund is available.
If you wish to modify your dates, you will be charged a $ 50 modification fee and have a validity of 1 year. The reservation amount may vary depending on the season to which the reservation is changed.
No refunds will be given for any change due to a natural disasters.
COVID-19
Modifications will only be accepted when the Costa Rican Ministry of Health orders the restriction of free transit, preventing you from being able to travel to your reservation.
Modifications will not be accepted in the 2 days prior to your arrival. Neither will cancellations be accepted, only modification of the reservation date. A fee of $50 will be applied for the modification of the reservation.
If you must modify the reservation due to a COVID-19 infection, we require the medical certificate indicating your name, indicating that your test came back positive. No charge will be made for the modification of the reservation.
